The A39 is reached from the M5 and the A361 (signposted Barnstaple).

From London - travel west on the M4 Motorway until Bristol, take the M5 heading South West.

From the M5 Take the A361 to Barnstaple - on the outskirts of Barnstaple you will find the A39 which you should follow South West towards Hartland.
